Some bacteria are beneficial to us, such as the ones found in yogurt. Others can cause us to get sick. They include mushrooms, molds, and yeasts. They usually live in water. Some protists move around, while others stay in one place.

Examples of protists include some algae, paramecium, and amoeba. Their cell walls are made sturdy by a material called cellulose, and they are fixed in one place. Plants are divided into two groups: flower- and fruit-producing plants and those that don't produce flowers or fruits.

They include garden flowers, agricultural crops, grasses, shrubs, ferns, mosses, and conifers. Animals are multi-celled organisms, eat food for survival, and have nervous systems. They are divided into vertebrates and invertebrates and include mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds and fish. Actually, there are now six kingdoms.

INTRODUCTION TO BIOLOGY AND ITS BRANCHES

So thank you for giving me a head start. Thanks for the web. I thank you for making me understanding the branches of biology and thank you so very much for this website. I am happy is the time for to come about a study like this of biology and, branches I wish to learn more. The site is so amazing and it really make me flash back to my secondary school teacher, May Almighty Allah bless the man In person of copper UMAR Hausa man with peaceful mind? Thanks a lot to this website for their great effort in enlighting the knowledge of the researchers especially on biology, because to study biology is similarly to study ourselves.

Biology , study of living things and their vital processes. The field deals with all the physicochemical aspects of life. The modern tendency toward cross-disciplinary research and the unification of scientific knowledge and investigation from different fields has resulted in significant overlap of the field of biology with other scientific disciplines. Modern principles of other fields— chemistry , medicine , and physics , for example—are integrated with those of biology in areas such as biochemistry , biomedicine, and biophysics. Biology is a branch of science that deals with living organisms and their vital processes. Biology encompasses diverse fields, including botany , conservation , ecology , evolution , genetics , marine biology , medicine , microbiology , molecular biology , physiology , and zoology.

Branches of biology

The study of living organisms, their origin, anatomy, morphology, physiology, behavior, and distribution is called biology. When it comes to biology, the earth is the only planet where life is known to exist and over 8. Biology is composed of many branches through which the scope of biology is completely broadened from the past few years with the unifying concepts that govern all study and research. In this article, we are going to read about biology and its different branches to excel in the biological and general knowledge section. Biology is the science that studies various living organisms.

The science which deals with the study of living objects and their life processes is called biology Greek words, bios — life, logos — study. It covers all aspect of the study of living creatures like occurrence, classification, ecology, economic importance, external form, organization, internal structure, nutrition, health and other body functions, reproduction, life history, inheritance and origin. Being broad — based and multi- disciplinary, the term biology is often replaced by the term life sciences or biological sciences. The term biology was coined by Lamarck. There are three major branches of biology — botany, zoology and microbiology.

Three main divisions of biology are Microbiology, Botany and zoology under the umbrella of which many branches and sub-branches come. Here in this topic, we will cover definitions and examples of main branches such as morphology, anatomy, genetics, embryology, biotechnology, pharmacology, parasitology, physiology, etc.
