This is a list of the chemical elements which have been identified as of A chemical element, often simply called an element, is a species of atoms which all have the same number of protons in their atomic nuclei i. A popular visualization of all elements is the periodic table of the elements , a convenient tabular arrangement of the elements by their chemical properties that uses abbreviated chemical symbols in place of full element names, but the simpler list format presented here may also be useful.
Like the periodic table, the list below organizes the elements by the number of protons in their atoms; it can also be organized by other properties, such as atomic weight , density , and electronegativity. For more detailed information about the origins of element names, see List of chemical element name etymologies.

The actual value may differ depending on the isotopic composition of the sample. Since , IUPAC provides the standard atomic-weight values for these elements using the interval notation.
The corresponding standard atomic weights are: Hydrogen: [1. However, four such elements, bismuth, thorium, protactinium, and uranium, have characteristic terrestrial isotopic compositions, and thus their standard atomic weights are given.

A printable periodic table is an essential tool for students and chemists. You can place it where you need it while solving problems, mark it up, and print a new one whenever you like. These periodic tables use accurate data for name, atomic number , element symbol , atomic weight, and electron configuration , obtained from the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry or IUPAC. The HD periodic tables make great screen savers or reference tables on mobile devices.
In accordance with the IUPAC guideline for naming new elements, the discoverers were invited to propose names and symbols for the elements. After careful deliberation on these names and symbols, considering the rules and a public review period, the Inorganic Chemistry Division recommended these proposals for acceptance by the IUPAC Council. A summary of the current criteria and procedure was recently published in Chemistry International [ 4 ]. The JWP has earlier reported [ 5 ], [ 6 ], [ 7 ] on the discovery of elements with atomic numbers , , and These elements were subsequently named copernicium, with symbol Cn [ 8 ]; livermorium, with symbol Lv; and flerovium, with symbol Fl; respectively [ 9 ]. The JWP reports on the claims of priority of discovery of elements with atomic numbers , , , and were submitted in ; prior to publication, each of the claimant laboratories was asked to check the contents and findings in these drafts for technical accuracy.
